The Government Decree of the Republic of Kazakhstan of September 3, 2018 No. 548 "On Amendments and Additions to the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan of September 18, 2013 No. 983 "On Approval of the Registry of State Services" entered into force on September 21, 2018. According to these amendments, some services provided by the Kazpatent have been changed, and the following state fees have been abolished:

• for issuance of a patent, for registration of a trademark, appellation of origin of goods - 1 MCI (monthly calculation index);
• for registration of agreements of assignment, pledge, complex entrepreneurial license (franchising), license, sublicensing contracts related to the use of industrial property objects - 1.5 MCI (monthly calculated index).

Moreover, the changes concerned the deadline for submission of a document confirming the payment for filing an application for an invention and conducting a formal examination. Now this document should be sent to the Patent Office simultaneously with submission of other application materials or within 2 months from the filing date (subject to the payment of an additional fee for the extension of the term for its submission).
