A specialized Court for Intellectual Property Disputes will officially start operating from July 1, 2013

From July 1, 2013 a specialized Court for Intellectual Property Disputes will start its operation in Moscow in a specially rented building with the prospect of relocation in Skolkovo. This decision was made by the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation.

The decision to organize a specialized court that will focus on the solving conflicts in the field of intellectual property and legal issues was adopted in December, 2011. By the end of June all the organizational work will be completed, and the court will start working in full mode as of July 1, 2013.

Creating a new arbitration tribunal that will work as a Court of First Instance and the Court of Cassation will relieve the nonspecialized courts from huge number of cases. The jurisdiction of the Court for Intellectual Property Disputes covers the entire territory of the country and the Highest Arbitration Tribunal will serve as the supervisory authority for it.

The court will be operating with using modern technologies: the parties will be able to submit all of the documents in electronic digital form. For such applications a special resource , that also has a mobile version, has been created.
