Lithuania closes its national route via PCT

Lithuania will close its national route via the PCT application with effect from September 4, 2014.

It means that PCT applications as of said date will designate Lithuania only as a party to the EPC. Applicants that have filed a PCT application and desiring to obtain protection in Lithuania will have to enter the European regional phase of their PCT application and further validate the issued European patent in Lithuania.

On the current date national routes have already been closed by the following States which are party to the EPC: Belgium, Cyprus, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands and Slovenia.
